Skill development training

Heavy weather management

Heavy weather management requires a separate approach and makes use of specific skills. Often initial enthusiasm is replaced by uncertainty or disillusionment, anger or frustration. These sorts of feelings can easily dominate the capacity to think clearly which is not surprising because our basic needs are jeopardised, sometimes not only those of the employees but also those of the manager. This workshop focuses on the following subjects:

  • an insight into human responses to processes of change and how to tackle these effectively, particularly in the case of denial or resistance.
  • what motivates people and what does not, and how can you effectively influence this as a manager?
  • style of management in the case of regression when people perform less well: what to do and what not to do
  • what is your own attitude as a manager in the process as a whole, and how do you relate to your own people with this?
  • practising the most important techniques, such as active listening, expressing feelings, conflict resolution, and giving (bad) news
  • exchanging experiences and answering the questions of participants.

The way in which these subjects are reviewed also depends on the needs of the participants. Our skill development programmes focus both on managers and professionals starting out, as well as the more experienced and dyed in the wool employees.

We provide these programmes at a national and international level in various languages. In principle, the programmes are tailor-made and provided in-company. An intake discussion and tender with no obligations are part of our standard procedure. If you are interested please contact Gerard den Hollander or Tom Jansen.
